The English Civil War (1642–1651), comprised a series of bloody battles driven by political motives between Parliamentarians  and Royalists.

Battles pitted the supporters of King Charles I against the followers of Oliver Cromwell, and  the conflict overtook the entire country.  Battle-lines constantly shifted and  allegiances often divided families as brother fought brother in one of the bloodiest conflict ever fought on British soil
 
For King and Country is a great starting point for playing games set in the Thirty Years War or the English Civil Wars. This starter set gives you the Pike and Shotte Rulebook and a total of 82 plastic miniatures in 28mm scale, which may be fielded as Royalist or Parliamentarian in the English Civil Wars or as one of the many protagonists involved in the immense Thirty Years War.
