Slaanesh is the Prince of Pleasure and the Princess of Pain. He is the hermaphrodite god of hidden pleasures and forbidden vices. His followers are addicted to sensations in their most extreme and debased form. They can never be satisfied, they must forever push the tolerances of their senses to the extreme.

In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Slaanesh was birthed ten thousand years ago with the Fall of the Eldar that consumed their ancient empire and created the Eye of Terror. This becalmed the warp allowing the Emperor to embark on his great crusade. Though Slaanesh was born ten thousand years ago, Slaanesh has always existed. Such is the reality-bending nature of Chaos.

In the Mortal Realms, Slaanesh has been missing since the great triumph of Chaos following the Age of Myth. After gorging himself on the souls of the vanquished Slaanesh fell into a deep slumber and was captured by the Aelven deities. His followers hunt for him still, to free him and bask in his incomparable beauty once more.

The daemons of Slaanesh are disturbing in a way not found amongst the followers of the other gods. They are strangely alluring, beckoning the weak of will to embrace them and in so doing find their death. The followers of Slaanesh form a cavalcade of flesh and claws dancing across the battlefield opening necks and bellies with delicate swipes of blade or claw.
